 James Roy Thompson 4 January 1931 - 24 December 2010 Melva Owen Thompson 12 February 1938 - Herald Democrat December 28, 2010 ALLEN - Funeral services for James Roy Thompson, 79, of Allen, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 in Flesher Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Wyatt will officiate, and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. He died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 in Presbyterian Hospital in Allen. Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Dallas, the son of James and Francis Thompson. He married Melva Owen Thompson on March 30, 1958 in Dallas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Hella Temple. Surviving are his wife, Melva Thompson of Allen; daughters, Susan Ogle and husband Bob of Allen and Lisa Jager and husband Marshall of Anna; grandchildren, Kelly Ogle, Christina Decker and husband Dan, Mark Ogle, Jenna Jager, Michael Ogle and Dylan Jager; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ogle, Addison Decker and Rylie Ogle; and sisters, Margaret Townsend, Jamie Nance and Shirley Gervers. Pallbearers will be Mark Ogle, Michael Ogle, Bob Ogle, Marshall Jager, Dylan Jager and Dan Jager. The family will be at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
