DIES SUDDENLY IN DALLAS SUNDAY Dixie S. Thompson, formerly of Van Alstyne, died suddenly in Dallas at 6 o'clock Sunday morning, according to word received in Sherman. Mr. Thompson was a pioneer citizen of Grayson County, and served two terms as district clerk almost thirty years ago. After leaving the office of district clerk, Mr. Thompson came to Van Alstyne, where he engaged in the banking business for many years. Later he returned to Sherman, and engaged in the banking business being connected with the American Bank and Trust Company. After retiring from business there he moved to Dallas to be near his daughter. He was one of the progressive citizens of the county, and helped to . . . the building of the Interurban Line between Sherman and Dallas, and in many other enterprises. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Thompson, and three sons and one daughter. The sons are Dixie Thompson Jr., who is connected with the M. & P. Bank of Sherman, Hugh Thompson of Denison and Jerome Thompson of Mexia. A married daughter resides in Dallas. The body was brought here, and burial was made in Van Alstyne cemetery Monday afternoon.
