VAN ALSTYNE MAN
DROWNS IN FARM LAKE

VAN ALSTYNE - Noel Creed Taylor, 73, Van Alstyne landowner and member of a pioneer Grayson County family, drowned Saturday afternoon while fishing at a farm lake southeast of here.
Mr. Taylor's body was found . . to arrive home when expected.
Mr. Taylor was fishing alone at the large lake on the Joe Clarkson Farm. It was believed he lost his footing on the muddy bank and fell into the water. He had gone to the lake about 11 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Flesher Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born at Weston Dec. 20, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Surce Taylor, and married Miss Alline Evans Sept. 26, 1910, in Van Alstyne.
In addition to having extensive land holdings near  Van Alstyne, Mr. Taylor had been a director of the First National Bank here since 1918. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. S. H. Pattie of Fort Worth, Mrs. W. C. Cason of Van Alstyne and Mrs. J. V. DeFord of Garland; two sons, Surce John Taylor of Garland and Leslie A. Taylor of New York City; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Mrs. Margaret Alline Taylor, 84, of Van Alstyne, who died Saturday in a nursing home here, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Flesher Funeral Home chapel.
The Rev. Don Griffith of First Christian Church and the Rev. Ron Page of First Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
A Van Alstyne native, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simpson T. Evans, was a member of the First Christian Church and was married in 1910 in Van Alstyne to Creed Taylor.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Nelda Pattie of Fort Worth, Mrs. Ruth Lee Cason of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Marjorie Creed DeFord of Garland; sons, Surce John Taylor of Garland and Leslie Armour Taylor of New York City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Gladys Douglas of Grand Prairie.
Pallbearers are John K. and Robert Hynds, Mac Selby, Dr. James R. Greening, Clyde Maples and Floyd Carter.
