Services for James Harvey Tate, 74-year-old salesman of Route 4 Sherman, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne.  He died Monday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas.
Dr. Don Wood of Fairview Baptist Church will officiate with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Tate was born in Farmersville, the son of Edwin Tate and Nora Springer Tate.  On Aug. 9, 1937, he married Jonnie Owen in Sherman.
An Air Force veteran, he served in World War II and the Korean conflict.  He had been employed by Hall Furniture in Sherman, and was a Baptist.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tate, Scott Tate, Sean Russell, David Russell, Dennis Miller, Greg Miller, Tim Tate and Marshall Jager.
Surviving are his wife, of Sherman; daughter, Vickie Russell of Sherman; son, James Tate of Sherman; sisters, Helen Miller of Sherman and Dorothy Cushman of Dallas; brothers, Chester Tate of Dallas and Troy Tate of Lubbock; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
