 Dionicio Talamantez 16 April 1916 - 17 January 1994 Leandra Talamantez 27 February 1924 - Sherman Democrat January 18, 1994 A-6 GUNTER - Dionicio Talamantez, 77-year-old Gunter rancher, died Monday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne with Rev. Valencia officiating. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mr. Talamantez was born in Brackettville, the son of Pedro Talamantez and Andrea Rodriquez Talamantez. In July 1946 he married Leandra Rangel in Mexico. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Gunter. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Dora Elia Mercado and Hermila Cruz, both of Gunter; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Don Mercado, Javier Mercado, John Cruz, Philip Wario, Fidel Talamantez, and Eleno Mercado. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and other times at the Jose Cruz residence in Gunter.
