Alstyne -- Funeral services for Vera Luella Skipworth, 86, who passed
away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Medical Center of McKinney, will
be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Scoggins Funeral Home
Chapel, with Bro Benny Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Van
Alstyne Cemetery.
Tommy Manning, Jerry Sharkey, David Chapman, Craig Mullen, Joe McClane and Jerry Jackson will be serving as pallbearers. Lou was born August 10, 1929 in Pottsboro, Texas to her late parents, Jerry and Millie Garner. Lou was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Leo Skipworth, Jr; and a son, Johnny Skipworth. Lou is survived by daughter, Sherry Sharkey, of Greenville, TX; granddaughter, Brandy Sharkey, of Greenville, TX; grandson, John M. and wife Laura Skipworth, of Plano, TX; and two great- grandchildren, Dalton and David Smith, both of Greenville, Texas. Family will receive friends Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W.
