 Charlie J. Skipworth 1897 - 1923 James Charley Skipworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Skipworth, born in Kentucky, June 18, 1896, came to Texas with parents when small boy and lived Van Alstyne community since. Died Sunday, July 29, 1923. Married Miss Gertie Jay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Jay, June 19, 1944. Four children born. Funeral services Sunday afternoon, 5 o-clock. First Baptist Church at Elmont, conducted by the Rev. Atherton, Rev. Rolin Rudd, and W.Harrison Baker. Interment, Van Alstyne, at Cemetery. Survived by wife, four young children, Williard, Juanita, Nadine, and J. C.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Skipworth, brothers and sisters, John, Cliff, Edd, Bill, Hoyt, Allen, Albert, Doyle, Weldon, Leslie and a sister Pearl.
