Van Alstyne - Services for William Rexton Simpson, 75, a retired Van Alstyne farmer who died Monday
at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Elmont Baptist Church, conducted by Bob Milligan and E.G. Gregory, both Baptist ministers.  Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.

Mr.Simpson was born in Cannon, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simpson.  He married Iva Sweeney
Nov. 3, 1918 in Tom Bean and was a member of the Elmont Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs. J.W. Wilson of Garland; Mrs. George Grandstaff of Dallas and
Mrs. Willis Whitaker of McKinney; sons, L.D. Simpson of Big Spring and Kenneth Simpson of Ft. Knox, Ky.; sisters, Mrs. Maude Smith of Gordonville and Mrs. Adelle Ireland of Whitewright; brother, Harless Simpson of Van Alstyne; half-brother, Walter Tallent of Sherman; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Loren Ferguson, Cal Lay, Arlie Caldwell, Earl Davis, W.R. Barrett and Homer Bowden.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Van Alstyne - Services for Mrs. Iva Simpson, 76, Van Alstyne housewife who died Friday at a Dallas hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmont Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Milligan.  Burial will be at Van Alstyne cemetery.
Born at Cannon, Mrs. Simpson was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Sweeney and married Rex Simpson on Nov. 3, 1918, at Tom Bean.  Mr. Simpson died Feb. 9.  Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Elmont Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Norma Whitaker of McKinney and Mrs. Ruby Grandstaff of Dallas and Mrs. Margaret Wilson of Garland; sons, Kenneth Simpson of Fort Knox, Ky. and L.D. Simpson of Big Springs; sisters, Mrs. J.D. Shaw and Mrs. Louis Grider, both of Van Alstyne.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
