Van Alstyne Leader May 5, 1927 CALLED TO HER HEAVENLY HOME On Monday afternoon, April 25th, 1927 at 3:30 o'clock the spirit of cousin, Julia Rhodes winged its way from this world of trouble and went home to her God, there to remain until the resurrection morn. As we see her by the river of life among beautiful flowers that grow and bloom and never wither, in the Celestial City where there is no night but it is always day for Christ is its light. She has entered into the joys of an eternal peaceful life where she can dwell forever more, without suffering, with the consoling thought that after a while all of her friends and loved ones can meet her over there, where joy is unconfined and where love never dies. "Gone but not forgotten." Our homes are filled with grief of the heavy loaded burden which earth hath no relief. "Tis hard to break the tender cord, When love has bound the heart, "Tis hard, so hard, to speak the words "We must forever part." Dearest loved one we must lay thee. In the peaceful grave's embrace, But thy memory will be cherished, "Till we see thy heavenly face. It is sad that one we cherish should be taken from our home, But the joys do not perish live in memory alone. All the years we've spent together, All the happy golden hours shall be cherished in remembrance, Fragrant sweets from memory's flowers. What is life but sadness, What is joy but grief, What is death but gladness, With Heaven's sweet relief." A Cousin.
