Van Alstyne, Texas -- Mattie Lee Price, retired minister, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at Wilson N Jones Regional Medical Center in Sherman. She was born May 24, 1923 in Monroe Tennessee to Benton and Maggie Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Benjamin Price.
Two daughters: Shirley Steele and Connie Jean Price. Four brothers: Ivan Barnes, Benton Barnes, Walter Barnes and Earl Barnes. Three sisters: Bonnie Dickenson, Donna Heiner and Betty McVay. She is survived by her son and daughter in law: Kenneth and Brenda Price. Three sisters: M Doyce Dunn, Marie Grant and Maggie Olmstead. One brother: Doyle Barnes. Eleven Grandchildren: Several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Dr. E.L. Baker will officiate and burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W.
