Philips 2 June 1910 - 1 September 1990 Sherman Democrat September 2, 1990 p.A18 VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Ophelia Elizabeth Philips, 80-year-old sewing machine operator of Van Alstyne who died Saturday in Wilson N. Jones Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Pool will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mrs. Philips was born in Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Brown, and married Paul Philips on Jan. 23, 1936 in McKinney. She was a member of Elmont Baptist Church. Surviving are her brothers, L.C.Vineyard of Brownsville and Joe Lee Vineyard of Van Alstyne; and sister, Emma Marshall of Dallas. The family will be at Joe Vineyard's residence, 304 W. Fulton.
