Alstyne, Texas -- Sonny was born on May 30, 1945 in Sherman, Texas to
the late L Z Null and Lena Wilson-Null. Sonny went to be with our
Lord and Savior on November 10, 2014 while surrounded by family at the
Medical Center of McKinney at the age of 69. Sonny was a lifelong
resident of Van Alstyne, Texas and one of the biggest fans of the Van
Alstyne Panthers. Sonny never met a stranger and always had a story to
tell anyone he came in contact with. Sonny was known to most as “Coach
Null.” Sonny was a very devoted husband to his wife of 50 years, Linda Null, father to his sons and papa to his grandchildren. Sonny retired from Fisher Controls in McKinney, Texas after working 21 years with the company, he attended Elmont Baptist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, L Z and Lena Null. Sonny is survived by his beloved wife Linda Null, son Kyle Null and wife Kasey and son Gregory Null and wife Amie, Sister Joyce Kindle, grandchildren Tiffany, Natalie, Harley Rose, Gabriel Travor, Garryk and Kierrah, nieces Lisa and Tina Kindle, nephew Tim Kindle and numerous cousins. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Mark Fletcher will officiate and burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tim Kindle, Jerry Moody, Alford Loftic, Ted Morrison and Randy Smith will serve as pallbearers and Durall Rickerson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
