GARLAND - Marjorie Creed DeFord, age 62, died Tuesday June 9, 2009 at the Garland Community Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Larry David officiating.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmie DeFord of Garland; daughter Jane DeFord of Dallas; sister, Ruth Lee Cason of Van Alstyne; and one grandson.
Donations can be made to Dallas Southern Memorials Association via Jane DeFord.
Family visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.

Rockwall, Texas -- James Valentine "Jimmie" DeFord, Jr., 91 of Rockwall, Texas passed away December 5, 2017.
He was born on May 3, 1926 in Sulphur Springs. He graduated from SMU and was a Civil Engineer with the Dallas County Highway Department. He proudly served his country in World War II and was a member of the Sons of the Revolution. In his spare time, he enjoyed genealogy.
He married Jane Kieffer Falt February 14, 2010, and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margie Creed Taylor DeFord and his son, James Creed DeFord. He is survived by his sister, Jean DeFord Haverstock, one daughter Jane DeFord, one grandson William Everitt Myers,
one step-son and his wife, Eric and Diane Falt and their son Randall Groves, one step-daughter and her husband John and Stacey Williams and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. The family will receive friends one hour prior of service. Burial will follow in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
