Van
Alstyne, Texas -- Dorothy Louise Wheeler
Morrison was a loving, caring
and nurturing mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother. She had many
lifelong friends. She worked for many
years as a seamstress at
Pool Manufacturing in Sherman, Texas.
In later years she fed many
students and teachers at the cafeteria at
Gunter High School. She
enjoyed quilting quilts for every
grandchild. She and her late
husband Horace enjoyed camping and traveling
in their retirement
years. She was a lifelong,
faithful member of Elmont
Baptist Church.
Mother
was born in the Hackberry Community in Van
Alstyne on October 15, 1923
to Cicero and Lucille Wheeler. She married
Horace Lee Morrison on July
29 1949 in Farmington. She was preceded in
death
by mother and father, her husband Horace Lee
Morrison, her sister
Gladys Kerfoot and brother: Haskell
Wheeler. The only surviving
sister is Maudine Arnold of Sherman.
She
is also survived by her daughter Betty and
husband Bob Spencer of
Gunter. Sons and their wives: Ted and Kathy
Morrison of Van Alstyne and
Michael and Vanessa Morrison of Brenham.
Grandchildren: Mickey and
husband Wesley Cook, Kimberly and husband
Paul Gade, Jeremy Spencer,
Heather and husband Jarrod Martin, Melissa
and husband Micah Adkison,
Sabrina Morrison, Cody and wife Sarah
Morrison, Stephanie and husband
Adam Schmidt and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services
will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at
2:00 p.m. at Elmont Baptist
Church in Van Alstyne. Officiating will be
Rev. Mark Fletcher and Rev.
Jim Pool. Burial will follow in the Van
Alstyne Cemetery. The family
will receive friends on Friday from 6:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins
Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be
grandsons and
great-grandsons.

direction of Scoggins Funeral Home &
Crematory, 637 W Van Alstyne Parkway, Van
Alstyne, Texas
