W. C. “Red” Morris
passed away March 18, 2016 at the age of 89
years in the comfort of his home with
his loving wife, Mary by his side. He was born
May 11, 1926 in Atoka,
Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Edna Morris. Red
graduated from Van
Alstyne High School and continued to provide
for his disabled father,
mother and two sisters. He married the love of
his life, Mary Johnson
from Howe, Texas. He spent his life loving,
serving and raising his
family with godly values. Red was the manager
of Binswanger Glass until
he retired to continue building homes and
developing land in the
Grayson County area. He enjoyed his
grandchildren and was always
willing to help others by his using his
talents and building skills. He
will
be remembered for his work ethic and faithful
devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by his
wife Mary L.
Johnson Morris; two sons: Richard Morris,
Dennis and wife; Susan Morris
of Sherman, Texas. He was adored by his
grandchildren Matthew and
his wife, Lisa Morris of Forsyth, Georgia;
Meredith and husband, Jeremy
Gardner of Locust Grove, Georgia. His life was
blessed with eight great
grandchildren: Griffin, Madeline and Emily
Morris, Cole and Hannah
Yanez, of Forsyth, Georgia; Colten, Casen and
Landry Gardner, “who is
soon to arrive,” from Locust Grove, Georgia.
Red passed from this
life and was
greeted by his Lord and Savior and many other
loved ones that preceded
him in death; his parents Earl and Enda, his
daughter-in-love, Sue
Morris. He lived a full life pleasing to the
Lord. He was lovingly
known as Red, Dad, Papa and Great Papa. The
loss of this temporal earth
is but for a season. In the words of Red’s
favorite song, “Heaven’s
Sounding Sweeter.”
