SHERMAN
– Despite our sorrow at his absence, the
family of Carl Minton rejoices
for him as he was called from this life. He
would have been 93 years
old in just a few short days.
Carl was a onetime
realtor then follow his dream and became a
lifelong farmer.
A
Shriner and member of the Edwin J. Kiest
Masonic Lodge 1310 of Dallas,
Texas, Carl was a man of great faith and
knew that while faith confirms
the promise of peace, it expresses the
command to love. Above all of
his other virtues, Carl was a loving person.
Carl
believe that the work of God is manifested
in the actions of each man
and woman in their own time and place. He
lived his faith on earth to
earn his place in Heaven. Carl's life is
best characterized in a
paraphrase of Chapter 21 of the Gospel of
St. Luke and in a verse from
a hymn by Stuart Hine:
"Beware that our hearts do not become drowsy
from the intensity of
daily life and end-times catch you by surprise.
For the end-times will assault everyone who
lives.
Be vigilant and pray that you will have the
strength to stand before the Son of Man."
"When Christ shall come with
shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy
shall fill my heart!
And I shall bow in humble adoration and there
proclaim
My God, how great thou art!"
Carl is preceded in death by his
parents John J. and Lillian Minton and his
brothers Johnnie and George.
Left
to cherish his memories, he is survived by
his devoted wife, Jean;
daughter, Joyce Williams of Dallas; daughter
Janet Marmion and her
husband Joseph of Bolton Massachusetts;
grand-daughter, Melody Davis
and her husband Larry of Greenville, Texas;
grandson, Todd Stoker and
his wife Victory
of The Colony, Texas; grand-daughter Kelly
Champion and her husband Christopher of
Nashville, Tennessee; and great
grand-children Brandon and Jessica Stoker of
The Colony.
Carl
is also survived by his brothers Clyde
Minton of Terrell, Texas and
W.B. (Heavy) Minton of Van Alstyne; his
brother and sisters-in-law,
Albert (Smitty) and Dorothy Minton of Plano,
Texas, Don and
Betty
Minton of Mansfield, Texas; his sisters,
Lucile Dupre of San Antonio,
Texas, Mary Minton of Bedford, Texas; his
sisters and brothers-in-law
Margaret and Bill Durning of Plano, Texas,
Jacqueline
and Jack Walker of Bedford, Texas; and his
sister-in-law, Jewell Minton of Dallas.
And, as close as family, countless
caring and loving friends.
Memorial
services celebrating Carl's life were held
at the Bethel Baptist Church
of Howe, Texas, the Reverend Weldon Hutson
officiating.

Jean C. Minton

Jean Claire Ingram Minton
Mrs. Minton went home to be with her
Lord on 13 February 2011. She was born on 24
March 1928 in
Tulsa,
Oklahoma the daughter of Anna and Bob
Ingram. She passed away at Texas
Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman,
Texas.
Shortly
after her birth, the family moved to
Houston, Texas. After High School
graduation in Houston she attended
University of Houston, from where
she received a Bachelor and Master Degree.
Subsequently she started her
teaching career in Houston.
She
married Carl William Minton in Houston and
they moved to Sherman in
1974. She was employed by the Grayson County
Co-op as a Diagnostician
for 28 years. After retiring Jean worked
again as a Diagnostician for
the Denison ISD till 2007.
She was a devoted
Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Parish in Sherman.
She
was preceded in death by her husband Carl;
her parents; sisters,
Patricia Lindley of Texas, Dorothy Loykasek
of Texas, Louise Weber of
New Jersey, Sr. M. Lorettine of New Orleans;
brothers, Thomas P Ingram
of Midland, Texas, Dr. Robert and Dr. George
Ingram of Tulsa, and C.
Edward Ingram of Houston.
Left
to mourn her passing and cherish her
memories, Jean is survived by her
nieces Loretta Loykasek, Lucie Jean
Schellbach both of Burleson, Texas
and Annie Kellner of Richardson, Texas, and
a nephew, Calvin J.
Loykasek of Seattle, Washington.
Also,
survived by two step-children, Joyce
Williams of Dallas, Texas and
Janet Marmion of Chicago, Illinois; many
other nieces and nephews;
neighbors and friends.
Father Jeremy Myers, St
Mary's Catholic Parish pastor, recited the
Rosary at Flesher Funeral Home in Van
Alstyne, Texas.
Mass
of Christian Burial was celebrated at St
Mary's Catholic Church, Father
Jeremy Myers, officiating, assisted by
Father Antonio Aureus and
Deacons John LeBlanc and Tomas Avila.
It
was Jean wishes that in lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in her
name to St Mary's Catholic Church for the
restoration of the stained
glass windows project.
