MILAM-McKinney, Tex., July 7 - Mrs. Eliza Milam died at her home near Van Alstyne. She was the daughter of Collin McKinney, for whom Collin County and the City of McKinney were named. Mrs.
Milam was a charter member of the First Christian Church organized in Collin County.

ELIZA McKINNEY MILAM
Daughter of Collin McKinney and wife of Jefferson Milam who was a nephew of Ben Milam of Texas fame.
She was the youngest of the four daughters of Collin McKinney, by his second wife, and was born July 20, 1813 in Kentucky. In 1824 she came to what was then Bowie County, Texas with her father, Collin McKinney, and was married to Jefferson Milam about 1830, by whom she had ten children.
Eliza passed away on July 06, 1904. Although her husband is buried at their old homestead in east Texas, his name was also engraved on her tombstone in the Van Alstyne Cemetery
