Services
were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, at the
Elmont Baptist Church
here for George Allen McMahan, 93, a retired
farmer who died at 9:15
a.m. Saturday, January 30 at McKinney.
Rev. Paul Cherry and Rev.
Robert Smith conducted the services.
Burial was in the Van
Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. McMahan was born
November 16, 1887 in South Carolina, the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs.
G. P. McMahan. He married Miss Ruth Emma
Brown in 1906 at
Farmington. She preceded him in death on
January 30, 1961.
Survivors
include three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Caldwell
of Dallas, Mrs. James
Thompson of Grand Prairie and Mrs. Robert
Price of Denton; two
brothers, E. F. McMahan of Van Alstyne and
Earnest McMahan of
Bakersfield, Calif.; three grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
