James E. McKinney Sr

Sis Virginia Rae Murphy
McKinney, 81, was the 3rd child born
to Mr. John L. Murphy and
Mrs. Oleta Beck Murphy on May 4, 1938
in Pilot Grove, Texas. She was the
oldest girl in the family.
Virginia accepted Christ at an early
age.
She
attended public school in Van Alstyne
and Sherman. She was a loving
and caring
mother, friend, sister, aunt and
cousin. She talked on the phone
to her family
and friends every day. Her smile
was worth a trillion stars raining down from
heaven. Virginia was very
nurturing to all with her many caring
and giving words of
encouragement and wisdom to all who
knew her. "Mama Gin" will truly
be missed.
In her
younger years she met and married Mr.
James Edward McKinney, Sr. To
this union 2
children were born - son, James Edward
McKinney, Jr. and daughter Charlotte
Louise McKinney Thompson. After
the children were born, they moved to Dallas,
Texas, "Alta Mesa", where she joined
the "New Generation Baptist Church",
now under the leadership of Rev.
Kelvin Stepney. Where she served
on the
mothers' board and was a faithful
member and mother until her health
failed her.
On March 25, 2020, she faithfully
answered her name on the roll
call. Virginia will be
truly missed but will not be
forgotten.
She was
preceded in death by her husband;
parents; son; and daughter; sisters, Lesidia
Murphy McLean and Marquetta Ann
