Van Alstyne, Texas -- Services for Linda Davis, 77, of Van Alstyne will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Elmont Baptist Church in Van Alstyne. Rev. Mark Fletcher will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery.

She was a devoted wife, precious mother and grandmother who passed Wednesday in her home. She was generous, loving and compassionate friend to many. She never hesitated to serve others before herself. She brightened everyone’s day with her beautiful smile and quick wit.

Everyone that knew Linda knew she loved God and her family. She was a lifelong member of Elmont Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was adored by many. She will truly be missed.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to friends, family and Grayson County Home Hospice for all the love and support.

She is survived by her husband Earl Davis of Van Alstyne, daughters and their husbands Carrie and David Barton of Van Alstyne, Patti and Robert Martin of Sherman. Siblings: Neoma Burk, Wanda Stephens, Jerry Hearrell and wife Debbie, Annette Tolbert, Penny Tolbert, Kim Otis, Lissie Hearrell, Allen Hearrell, Flora Ann Fink, Charles Hearrell and Mary Lou Nickel as well as her stepmother: Sadie Hearrell. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ulysses S. and Ruby Marie Dillingham Hearrell of Coal County Oklahoma as well as her brothers: Ronnie, Raymond, Wendell and Robert Hearrell, Jr.
