Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Jane Lewallen, 89, were held last Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Flesher Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Wayne R. Williams, pastor of the Elmont Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewallen passed away at a Wichita Falls hospital last  Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Interment was in Van Alstyne City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Skipworth, Eldon Wesson, Ernest Miller, Ray Neill, Blue Hale and James Burk.
Mrs. Lewallen was a native of this state, having been born on May 22, 1869, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Watson. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a grandson, Tyrus Lewallen of Jacksonville, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
