Alstyne, Texas -- Edna Dutton, 97, of Van Alstyne passed away Friday,
March 20, 2015 at her residence. She was born February 17, 1918 in
Grayson County to John and Ella Shaw Skipworth. She married Arnold
Dutton on June 1, 1946 in Rockwall, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 9 siblings. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Camille and Larry Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mickey and Mike Horton of Van Alstyne. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Corey Horton of Van Alstyne, Texas, Yvette Jones of Crane, Texas, Luke Miller and wife, Lori, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Damion Horton of The Colony, Texas, Lauren Groves and husband, Chris, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Heath Horton of Howe, Texas and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Dutton taught school for a number of years in Howe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Howe for most of her adult life and was a member of Wilson N. Jones auxiliary for many years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2014 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne with Rev. Roger Tidwell and Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
