Alstyne, TX - Billy Charles Kanaday, a 75 year
old Van Alstyne
resident, went to be with the Lord on Monday,
April 6, 2009 at Medical
Center of McKinney. He was born July 19,
1933 in Van Alstyne, son
of Joseph Edwards Kanaday and Annie McCullough
Kanaday. He
married Betty Chandler October 9, 1951
in Rockwall. He is a member of the First
Baptist Church of Van Alstyne.
Funeral services for
Mr. Kanaday will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday,
April 9, 2009 at Flesher Funeral Home
in
Van Alstyne with Bro. Jim Poole
officiating. Burial will follwo
at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family
will gather for
visitation at 1:00 pm on Thursday, one hour
prior to the service.
He
is survived by his wife, Betty Kanaday of Van
Alstyne; one daughter,
Cathy Breach of Bonham; on son, Lenny Kanaday
of Van Alstyne; six
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Van

be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 2014
at Scoggins Funeral Home
Chapel in Van Alstyne. Rev. Jim Pool will
officiate and burial will
follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family
will receive friends on
Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to service time.
Betty
passed away Friday at Meadowbrook Care Center
in Van Alstyne. She was
born July 11, 1935 in Windom, Texas to John
and Leoma Wigley Chandler.
She married Bill Kanaday October 9. 1951 in
Rockwall, Texas, he
preceded her in death in April 2009. Betty was
a member of the First
Baptist Church in Van Alstyne and a homemaker.
She
is survived by her son and his wife Lenny and
Rose Kanaday of Van
Alstyne, daughter and her husband Cathy and
Eddy Breach of Ladonia,
sister, Johnnie Luna of Plano and 7
grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren.
Services are under the
direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W. Van
Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas.
