Services
will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the
Waldo Funeral Chapel
for Mrs. Mary Emelie Jay, 92, of
Howe, who died Friday at a
Sherman nursing home.
Services
will be conducted by Rev. David
Breeding of the Howe
Christian Church, with burial at the
Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs.
Jay was born at Van Alstyne, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James Wilson and was married to Ody
Edgar Jay Jr.[Sr.] on Dec. 14, 1914
in Grayson County. She taught
school in the Hackberry Community
for several years, taught Sunday
school for more than 45 years and was
a member of the Howe First Christian
Church.
Survivors
are sons, Overton Jay of Howe and Ody
Jay of Sherman;
daughter, Mrs. Olna McFarland of
Dallas; seven grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Butler,
Cashman Frampton, Clark Bowden, Bill
Mayo, Bill Corbin and Owen Watson.
The family will be at the Overton Jay
residence, 308 S. Denny St., Howe.
