Wallace "Jelly" Fields Hunter, 83 of McKinney passed away Thursday,
June 25, 2009 at Bradford Oaks Assisted Living in McKinney. He
was born July 10, 1925 in Van Alstyne, son of Joe William Hunter and
Dovie Tamsie Fields. He was baptized into Field City Baptist
Church in 1956. He served as Deacon at Field City Baptist Church
and later at Northway Baptist Church in Dallas. He married
Marquita Chambers on November 19, 1947 in McKinney and they had three
daughters. Wallace was employed by Southland Corporation for thirty years. After retirement he moved back to Van Alstyne. Also, Wallace was in the U.S. Army and he spent thirteen years with the McArthur GHQ in Japan. He is survived by his three daughters, Tamsie Opal McDonald of Dallas; Debra Lynn Knipp & husband Jimmy of Princeton; Lisa Dianne Howard and husband Steve of The Colony; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mozelle Napoli of Van Alstyne. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne with Brother Mike Fechner officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
