Thursday, May 7, 1925 pg. 2 J.M. HOUSE, VAN ALSTYNE BUSINESS MAN, IS DEAD Van Alstyne, May 2 - J.M. House, well-known business man of Van Alstyne, died Friday morning at his home here after two days' illness. Mr. House was born in Springfield, Kentucky, October 24, 1855. He came to Texas in 1912, locating at Detroit, Red River County. He moved to Van Alstyne in 1915 and had been engaged in the grocery business during the 10 years he had lived here. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mattie House; 2 sons, Willie House of Van Alstyne and J.A. House of Whitewright; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruby Pitman of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Edna Saritt of Hickman, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Christian Church.
