Sherman- Graveside funeral services for Georgia Bell Kirby Hathaway will be held at 10:00 AM Friday June 24 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Rev. Alvin Glick will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Hathaway, 72, passed away Wednesday June 22 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Home. 

Georgia was born October 26, 1938 near Van Alstyne to the late Dallas and Ruby (Wilson) Kirby. She married John O. Hathaway of Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 22, 1957. 

Mrs. Hathaway is survived by her husband of over 53 years, John Hathaway; one daughter, Venus Glick and her husband Alvin; one son, John Hathaway Jr.; and one sister, Helen Leverett and her husband Jim of Sherman.

John Orlen Hathaway passed from this life on December 22, 2022.

He was born November 8, 1936, in Oklahoma.

He was a retired veteran of the US Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he owned and operated Hathaway Television Repair in Sherman for many years.

John was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Tx.

John is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hathaway of Whitesboro; a daughter, Venus Glick and her husband Alvin of Sherman; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday December 27th, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, 619 N. Travis, Sherman, Texas. Rev. Mike Flanagan of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, Tx 75090.
