Texas -- Genell Greer passed from this life to begin eternal life
with her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2016. She was born June 2,
1924 in Emhouse, Texas, Navarro County. She was a long-time and
faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Anna, Texas.
Services will be under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home &
Crematory, Van Alstyne, Texas, with Pastor Rick Williamson officiating.
She is survived by her sons Scott Rollins, Sr., of Sherman, Texas; Paul
Rollins, Jr. and wife, Helen, of McKinney, Texas; Joe A. Greer, Jr. and
wife, Becky, of Anna, Texas; and daughter-in-law Melba Sampson of
Allen, Texas. Grandchildren Scott Rollins, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of
Stockton, California; Dennis Rollins and wife, Lisa, of Forney, Texas;
Bobby Rollins and wife, Kaye, of Sweeney, Texas; Tracie Yannibelli and
husband, Gary, of League City, Texas; Walter Rollins and wife, Krissy,
of Houston, Texas; Terry Rollins and wife, Mary, of Van Alstyne,
Texas,; Kelly Rollins and wife, Mandy, of Collinsville, Texas; Michael
Rollins of Anna, Texas; Wendy Rollins of McKinney, Texas; Tim Greer and
wife, Beate, of Newberry, Florida; Tammy Greer Rutherford of Anna,
Texas; and Landon Rollins of Dallas, Texas. Sisters Georgia Mosier of
Anna, Texas and Johnnie Fisher of McKinney, Texas; brothers Bill
Montgomery of Anna, Texas; Kelly Montgomery, Jr., and Wife Evelyn, of
McKinney, Texas, and Kenneth Montgomery and Wife Judy, of McKinney,
Texas. Sister in-laws, Yvonne and Imogene Montgomery. Twenty-two great
grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many,
friends including her Skip-Bo buddies, Dessa Adams and Alice Deak.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joe A. Greer, Sr., son, Jacky Rollins; daughter-in-law Geraldine Greer; parents, Kelly and Josie Montgomery; brothers, Joe. E. Montgomery and Arthur Montgomery; granddaughter Carylon Greer and grandson, Joel Rollins. Genell and Joe owned and operated the Texaco Service Station in Anna, Texas, for over thirty years. She also had a forty year career with the Anna Independent School District where she held several positions, including bus driver and teacher assistant. She loved her church and was always ready to help out as needed. She was deeply devoted to her family. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas. A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, in Van Alstyne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Anna, P.O.
