May 13, 1924 Page 3 The four-months old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Sam York, died last Saturday. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Christian church. Rev. Leo Johnston officiating. Interment was held at the Van Alstyne cemetery. The death of the child is a severe blow to the parents, who have the most sincere sympathy of the entire community. April 8, 1966 Page 1 SAM YORK SERVICES HELD Services were held at the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne, April 3, for Sam York who passed away at 6 p.m. April 1, 1966. He was 75 years old and a retired farmer. He served as Van Alstyne City marshall for 5 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Buela York, 2 sons, John York, of Van Alstyne, Lyman York of Howe, and 3 grandchildren.
