Van Alstyne - Services for Mrs. Chloe Gentry, 83, who died Monday at a
Van Alstyne nursing home, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Flesher
Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ron Page and Jerry Scott.
Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mrs. Gentry was born in Tennessee and was a member of the First Methodist Church. She married Eli Gentry July 25, 1909 in McKinney. Surviving are her husband; daughter, Mrs. James Hughes and a son, James Gentry, both of Van Alstyne; seven grandchilren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Mr. Gentry, a retired carpenter, was born in Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gentry and was married to Chloe Bugg on July 25, 1909 in McKinney. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and had lived most of his life in Van Alstyne. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rena Hughes of Van Alstyne; son, James Gentry of Van Alstyne; seven grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren. Gentry died Monday at a Van Alstyne nursing home.
