   David Lyn Hestand 6 October 1953 - 21 December 2001 Galveston Daily News December 25, 2001 GALVESTON - David Lyn Hestand, 48, left this world on December 21, 2001, while working at the job he loved. He was born to Fred and Grace Hestand in 1953, in Denver, Colorado. David will be remembered for his love of life, his joy at making others laugh, and for his love of all things beautiful. As a Merchant Marine, true of his profession, David's love of music and women will always bring a smile to those of us who knew him. His exceptional talent as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter enriched many lives and will be sorely missed. David is survived by his much loved son, Jamon Hestand of Galveston; his mother Grace Hestand of Denton, Texas; siblings Don Hestand of Wylie, Texas, Larry Hestand of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Janet Alegnani of Buda, Texas; and Pam Vinson of Austin, Texas; as well as the many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him. Graveside services will be held at Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001, under the direction of Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey, Texas.
