Nellie Gordon Renfro of Tioga, Texas passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at Columbia Medical center in Denton, Texas at the age of 88.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tioga, Texas under the direction of Huff/Slay Funeral Home, Pilot Point, Texas.  The Rev. Cathy Frettwell and Rev. John Lancaster officiated. Burial followed at the Tioga Cemetery.
Nell was born July 1, 1909, in Terrell, OK, to the late J. D. and Eva Gordon.  She married Charles "Otis" Renfro in May 0f 1926 at the First Methodist Church in Aubrey, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Renfro operated a successfull garage/service station for many years.  They also owned and operated a real estate office
in Tioga.  Mrs. Renfro continued to run the real estate office after her husband's death in 1978.  In 1995 she closed the office after 52 
successful years in business.
Mrs. Renfro had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Tioga for 75 years where she had served on the Board of Trustees.  She was an active member of th Tioga Community and was one of the founders of the Tioga Chamber of Commerce where she was an
honorary member.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Charlene Brown of Tioga and Virginia and Kenneth Grundei of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sister Bernice Noah of Denton, Texas and nine great-grandchildren.
