Taylor 8 January 1928 - 13 February 1995 Graveside services for John W Taylor of Sherman, 67-year-old retired car salesman, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Tioga Cemetery. He died Monday at his home. The Rev. Dennis Garner, Baptist minister of Gunter and cousin of the deceased, will officiate. Waldo Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr. Taylor was born in Whitesboro, the son of Smith and Bessie Patton Taylor, and moved to Dorchester at a young age. On Jan. 4, 1949, he married Della Mae Helms in S herman. She died in 1981. Later, he married Marcy Strohl Jan. 24, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died September 1994. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in Japan as a military policeman. A Sherman resident since 1950, he worked for Chase Chevrolet for several years and later was employed by Hooker Motor Company. He was a member of the Travis Masonic Lodge No. 117 AF&AM, past master, 32-degree Mason and Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a member of the Sherman American Legion Post No. 29 and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Steve Mexia, Arnold Flores, Cotton Hooker, JImmy Aaron, Micky Boatman and Jim Jacobs. Surviving are his sister, Bessie Jane Cunningham of Sh erman; and four stepchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, P.O.
