"Dude" Carrigan, 97, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home in Tioga. He was born February 12, 1915 to William Lee and Addie Mae Mullins Carrigan in Theda, Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Irene Self on March 2, 1936 in Tioga. Visitation was held Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Slay Memorial Funeral Center. A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Luther Slay officiating. Burial will follow at Tioga Cemetery and his grandsons will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of Tioga, Texas; son, Bobby and wife Linda Carrigan of Tioga, Texas; son, Wayne and wife Marilyn Carrigan of Krugerville, Texas; son, Leslie and wife Judie Carrigan of Krugerville, Texas; son Dean and wife, Sandy Carrigan, of Tioga, Texas; daughter, Lynda and husband, Marion Brockett, of Pilot Point, Texas; daughter, Betty and husband Rick Sutton of Krugerville, Texas; 36 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is predeceased by his brother, Auston Carrigan; sister, Martha Jurecka; and sisger, Lois Cook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 280 Ray Roberts Parkway, Tioga, Texas 76271. Services are under the direction of Slay Memorial Funeral Center. Flora Irene Carrigan, age 95, of Tioga, Texas passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 in Denton, Texas. She was born January 12, 1917 in Lamar County to William Walter Self and Dora Elizabeth Hunt Self. She married Leslie "Dude" Carrigan on March 2, 1936 in TIoga. He preceded her in death June 2012. She is survived by son, Bobby and wife Linda Carrigan of Tioga, Texas; son, Wayne and wife Marilyn Carrigan of Krugerville, Texas; son, Leslie and wife Judie Carrigan of Krugerville, Texas; son Dean and wife, Sandy Carrigan, of Tioga, Texas; daughter, Lynda and husband, Marion Brockett, of Pilot Point, Texas; daughter, Betty and husband Rick Sutton of Krugerville, Texas; 36 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by two brothers, Oscar Self of Arkansas and Kenneth Self of Nevada. Irene had four brothers and two sisters who preceded her: Ralph, Harmon, William and James Self and Aline Shelley and Leona Knight. Visitation will be Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey at 3:00 in the afternoon. Funeral services will be on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church at 9:00 in the morning. Burial will follow at Tioga Cemetery. The Rev. Luther Slay, Jonathan Daves and Todd Whittey will officiate.
