Services for Joe Neil Kays, 83 of Tioga were held at 2 p.m. Monday
at the chapel of Huff-Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point with Rev. Luther
Slay officiating. Services were under the direction of Huff-Slay Funeral
Home, Pilot Point. Burial followed at Tioga Cemetery.
Mr. Kays died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 in Gainesville.
He was born on May 1, 1925 in Tioga to Henry and Lillie Moses Kays.
He was a member of the Ford Masonic Lodge in Pilot Point. He was the former
Sexton for about 8 years for the Tioga Cemetery. He was a very generous
person and loved helping people. He was the owner and operator of the Kays
Oil Company in Pilot Point for 40 years.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Jo Kays of Wichita Falls, a
sister-in-law Marilyn Kays of Diamond Bar, Calif. and numerous nieces
and nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his
parents, four brothers and four sisters.
