   Roy Hedrick was born on June 14, 1951 in Sherman, son of W.A. "Billy" Hedrick and Dorothy Hedrick. He passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the age of 71. After graduating from Gunter High School, Roy joined the U.S. Army and proudly served as an Army Paratrooper. He retired from Fisher Controls, Sherman. He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Pat Gressett Hedrick of Gunter, Texas; children: Shane Hedrick and wife, Terri, of Chico, Texas; and Toni Clark and boyfriend, Nick Schindler, of Pilot Point, Texas. He cherished his grandchildren: Shelby Boeser and husband, Garrett, of Ponder, Texas; Austin Hedrick and wife, Amber, of Mingus, Texas; Kenyon Hedrick, USN Bangor, Washington; McKayla Hedrick of Chico, Texas; Preslie Clark of Pilot Point, Texas; and Nick's children, Preslee and Grady Schnidler of Pilot Point, Texas. Roy is also survived by 3 precious great-grandchildren, Keller Haney and Hudson and Rhone Boeser. Also surviving are his 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Dortha and Carl Reed; and Nancy and Doug Farrer; mother-in-law, Thelma Gressett; and sisters-in-law, Glenda Wood and Cheryl Gressett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law, Herman Gressett; brothers-in-law, Dale Gressett and Kenyon Wood. Funeral service was held Friday afternoon, January 27, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Tioga, Texas with burial following at Tioga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
