Sherman Daily Register
Saturday, July 21, 1900 pg 4 TAKEN TO TIOGA The Body of T. W. Cummins Carried There for Burial. Late yesterday evening Dock Spears, brother-in-law, and Mr. Lanterback, son-in-law of T. W. Cummins, came to Sherman for the body of deceased. An undertaker had prepared it for burial, and they returned with it to Tioga last night. The gentlemen stated that they were not surprised at the sudden stroke of death; that Mr. Cummins had been afflicted for a long time and that his friends were prepared for just such a summons. Yet with fore-knowledge of what might at any time happen, there was nevertheless, deep grief among his relatives and neighbors, because he was well known and everybody's friend.
