Juan, also known as Juanito or Johnny and even Johnny Baby to those closest to him, has gone to his final resting place and to meet his Lord, Savior and Creator. He was a resident in Sherman over 40 years retiring in 2009 as a service man with Tree’s Inc. Juan was born Friday, May 20, 1949 in Edinburg, Texas to Juan Sr. and Jesusa (Luna) Nino and passed from this life on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Sherman. Juan was the first born of eight children. He was a quiet, humble and reserved man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life especially being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings and never having lost he love for the mother of his children. He was always ready to watch a good football game and be on the opposition to create a little excitement for the crowd. Juan loved being surrounded by his friends and engaging in laughter and conversation. His love of Tejano music always touched his heart and brightened his day. He often shared fond memories of his past with his children of his younger days. Juan would reminisce of how beautiful Oregon is when his family lived there and he would pick strawberries in the field and how he wished to have gone back one day. One of his favorite stories happened when he and one of his brothers (not sure which one) had found a couple of beers. They decided to hide the beers in a cold water stream and happily recalled how they went back later in the day and he and his brother took the pleasure of drinking a cold one. He also reminisced about eating only one piece of watermelon because there were so many of them to divide amongst. Johnny was a loyal friend who held his friends close to his heart. He enjoyed the company of his friends that surrounded him. He was definitely unique in his character but still dearly loved by all his family, friends and his loved ones. He always managed to make those around him laugh, sometimes saying the most outlandish things. He will be dearly missed as we celebrate his life and cherish his memories but are also thankful that now he is in a better place full of peace, love and no longer in pain. May he rest in peace.
