Luis Mendoza Valencia 22 September 1938 - 13 August 2014 Luis Mendoza Valencia was born on September 22, 1938 to Isidro Mendoza Morfin and Eulogia Valencia Cardenas in Santa Maria de Guadalupe, Jalisco, Mexico. Luis was raised on a ranch and learned the value of hard work at an early age. Luis had a passion for animals and cultivating the land. As a ranchero living in Mexico, Luis was independent and ambitious. His work ethic was only surpassed by his generosity. Luis routinely utilized his good fortune to help the less fortunate. Luis was a well-respected member of his community and earned the loyalty of friends by keeping his word and leading by example. Although Luis was a serious person, he was known by his family to have a wonderful sense of humor and playful demeanor. Luis loved spending time with people and making carne asadas for everyone. He enjoyed telling stories, working on his ranch, riding horses, and listening to music. Luis was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Auoroa Mendoza & Enedina Mendoza. Luis is survived by his 9 children: Jose Luis Mendoza of California, Marielena Mendoza Jenneman and her husband, Tim of California; Maria Luisa Mendoza of California; Maria Guadalupe Mendoza of Oklahoma; Jorge Luis Mendoza and his wife, Julie of Texas; Isidro Mendoza and his wife, Stacie of Oklahoma; Azucena Mendoza Silva and her husband, Francisco of Arkansas; Esmeralda Mendoza Sandoval and her husband, Arnold of California; and Sergio Mendoza of Colorado, 39 Grandchildren and 20 Great- grandchildren. Luis passed from this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 3:05 a.m. in Castaic, California. At the time of his passing, Luis was surrounded by friends and family. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 21st 2014 at Waldo Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will immediately follow the Rosary at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22nd 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Antonio Aureus in charge.
