Former Citizen of Sherman Dies Here Early Sunday Morning
Frank Walcott, well known pioneer citizen of Sherman, passed away suddenly at a local hospital at an early hour Sunday morning, following a brief illness.
The funeral services were conducted this afternoon from St. Mary's Catholic church, in charge of the pastor, Father Blum, and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, south of the city.  The pall bearers were: Joe Korlioth, Joe O'Hagan, Fred Scholosser, C.J. Keliehor, H.L. Sheehey and S.A. Schott.  The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful floral offerings.
Mr. Walcott was 63 years of age at the time of his death.  He came to Sherman more than 30 years ago and lived in this city for 21 years prior to moving to Ardmore, Oklahoma, of which city he was a resident at the time of his death.  At Ardmore Mr. Walcott was connected with the city government, in the capacity of park supervisor.  For some time he has worked strenuously in his official position causing a general decline in his health. He was brought to this city 4 weeks ago for treatment and recuperation, and for a time it was thought that he was regaining his strength.  His condition became worse, however, suddenly yesterday morning and the end came almost without warning.
Mr. Walcott for many years was engaged in the produce and fruit commission business in Sherman, being one of the first to open such an establishment here, and was very successful in his line.  Previous to that time he had been connected with the fire department of the city, where he proved a  faithful and efficient man.  In all his connections he had many friends, and was well liked by all who knew him.  His death will be sincerely regretted by a large number of friends, and the Democrat joins these in extending its sincerest sympathies to the bereaved family.
The deceased is survived by the following children, all of Sherman: C.A. Walcott, Jim Walcott, Joe Walcott, Ed Walcott, J.A. Walcott, Vernie Walcott, Miss Alice Walcott, Miss Katherine Walcott, and Miss Nancy Walcott; a sister, Miss Mary Walcott; and a brother, Henry Walcott, of this city
