AGATHA FLORENCE SCHUTZ
BRICE
Agatha
Florence Schutz Brice, affectionately known as Gaye, passed away in Sherman,
Texas after a brief illness. Gaye was born in West New York, New Jersey but was
a true Texan the moment she fell in love with and married her husband of 63
years, Mr. Hugh Palmer Brice, who preceded her in death in 2005. She and Hugh
moved to Texas in the early 1940s and set down roots in Sherman in
1957.
Gaye lived her life to the fullest and had a wide array of friends.
She was a devoted and active member of St. Mary's Catholic
Parish, Sherman and up until a few years ago, was a member of the
Altar Guild and church choir. Although her health prevented her from attending
Mass on a regular basis over the last year, she never failed in her faith and
trust in Jesus Christ.
Those left to cherish loving memories include son
Gerald and his wife Claire of Pottsboro, Texas, daughter Carolyn Brooks and
husband Arthur of Austin, Texas, and brother Donald of North
Carolina.
Mom, we love and miss you but know that you are happier now
that you can be with Daddy. You will be missed so very much.
A rosary was
recited by Deacon John LeBlanc, St. Mary's Parish, at Waldo Funeral
Home.
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Reverend Jeremy Myers, Pastor of the Parish officiating with Deacon
Tomas Avila assisting.
The family would like to offer special thanks to
the staff at the Renaissance, the Homestead, the wonderful doctors and nurses at
Wilson N. Jones, and Grayson Home Hospice for their tender care of our mom. You
all helped to make mom's life a better
one.
