Sherman - Graveside service for Fred L. Walling, Sr., 72, of Sherman, who died Wednesday in Medical Plaza Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Speiser will officiate. Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Walling was born May 20, 1919, in Tom Bean, son of Carl Walling and Zela Thompson Walling. He married Lucille M. Janouch Nov. 3, 1944 in Lae, New Guinea. Walling attended Sherman schools and graduated from Sherman High School. He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater in World War II and received his medical training while in the service. Walling was a retired medical technologist of 40 years from Old Medical and Surgical Clinic. He also worked at Sherman Community Hospital for three years in the 1960s. He was a member of the Sherman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2772 and American Legion Post 29. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife of Sherman; son, Fred L.
