  Clarence was born in St. Peter, Kansas to the late August and Amelia (Reidel) Rome. He passed away on at Wilson N. Jones
  Medical Center, Sherman, Texas, at the age of 75.


  He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Salina, Kansas.

  Clarence and Miss Dee Quested were married on 9 August 1952 in Salina, Kansas. Subsequently, he joined the US Navy in
  September 1952 and served in the Korean Conflict. Clarence worked as plant manager at ConAgra for many years until his
   retirement in 1980.

    He was a dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree Grand Knight, a 4th Degree Faithful Navigator, former president of the St. Mary's Cemetery Board, and had participated in many other voluntary jobs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rudy and Jerry.

     Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dee of Sherman; three sons, Mike Rome and his wife Merrill of Houston, Texas, Randy Rome and wife Debbie of Sherman, and Tim Rome and wife Doris of Sherman; one daughter, Janet Garvert and husband Randy of Corinth, Texas; two sisters; Lenore Berry and her husband Les of Salina, and Jean Mayton and husband Bill of Shamokin, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, and Harris Rome of Houston; Jennifer and Lauren Rome of Sherman; Katie, Matt, and Drew Rome of Sherman; and Brooks and Meggi Garvert of Corinth.

     A rosary was recited at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Sherman.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sherman. Reverend Jeremy Myers, pastor of the church, officiated with 4th Degree members of the Knights of Columbus serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Miller, Bill Smith, Les Berry, Roger Flexer, and Ralph Vertner
