Stanley was born
in Bremond, Texas the son of Frank and Nellie Tomczyszyn Mocek. He died at home
in Southmayd, Texas. Stanley attended Bremond schools and joined the
military where he served in Guam during World War II in the US Army from
1947-1949. On 9 July 1949 he married Miss Polly Wierzbicki in Bremond.
Stanley was employed by Johnson-Johnson as a technical advisor for 26
years. Stanley moved to the Sherman, Texas area in 1980 from Markham,
Illinois. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish
in Sherman and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his son SGT Wayne T Mocek. Surviving are his wife; three
sons, Stan of Chicago, Illinois, Larry, and Don both of Sherman; three brothers,
Edward, Chris and Leonardo all of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Frances Pajak of
Chicago and Helen Ditta of Pasadena, Texas; and four
grandchildren. Rosary was recited at the Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Mary’s Catholic

Pauline R. "Polly" Wierzbicki Mocek 8
January 1932 – 14 August 2014
Polly was born in
Bremond, Texas, to Mike and Julia Wierzbicki. She was number ten of twelve
children. She passed away at Beacon Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,
Denison, Texas. On 9 July 1949, she married Stanley J. Mocek in Bremond.
Shortly thereafter they relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where they raised their
four sons. In 1979, Polly and Stanley realized a long-held dream when
they returned to Texas, on a twenty acre spread near Sherman, Texas. In
addition to taking care of her family and much involvement in community affairs,
Polly also owned her own beauty business for twenty years. She was well known
for her artistry and skill. Polly was preceded in death by her parents,
her loving husband, her son Wayne and one grandson, Michael. She is
survived by her children, Don Mocek and wife Kathy of Sherman, Larry Mocek and
wife Gail of Sherman, and Stanley Mocek and wife Elizabeth of Chicago; four
grandchildren, Aaron Mocek, Larry Mocek, Cynthia Bucher and Tommy Mocek; and one
great-grandchild; brother Kie Wierzbicki and wife Celia of Fort Worth, Texas,
and Cecilia Filar and husband Edward of Bremond. Rosary will be recited
at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 18th, in Dannel Funeral Home Chapel,
Sherman. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am
Tuesday, August 19th, at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman. Celebrant will be Fr. Antonio
Aureus. Polly's family would like to extend a huge 'thank-you' to the staff of Beacon
Hill in Denison, for the loving care they provided 'our
mom'! Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home in

A-15. Mass of Christian Burial for SGT. Wayne Mocek, 21, of the U.S.
Army, who was killed in a motorcycle accident Thursday at Fort Benning, Georgia,
will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman, Texas, The Rev. John
Fowler will be the celebrant. Burial with military rites will be at St.
Mary’s cemetery with arrangements by Dannel & Horton Funeral
Home. SGT Mocek was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stanley and
Polly Mocek. He attended schools in Chicago and enlisted in the Army in 1976.
He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Sherman. Surviving are
his parents of Route 2, Whitesboro; brothers, Stanley Mocek Jr. of Chicago,
Larry and Don Mocek of Sherman. Pallbearers will be honor guards from
Fort Hood, Texas. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the
Funeral chapel.

SHERMAN -
Graveside service was held this morning for Michael Eric Mocek, infant son of
Donald and Debbie Kunkel Mocek, in St Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the
direction of Dannel-Horton Funeral Home. The infant died at birth
Thursday morning at a Sherman hospital. Survivors include the parents,
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, Jim Kunkel of Chicago, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs.
