Carl David Parker 27 August 1938 - 29 September 2007 Rosemarie Parker 19 October 1937 - 3 September 2019 wed 5 August 1978 Sherman- A funeral mass for Carl David Parker was held Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Francisco Orozco officiatee with members of the Knights of Columbus serving as pallbearers. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. Parker passed away Saturday, September 29 at Texoma Medical Center at the age of 69. Carl was born on August 27, 1938 in Clarksville, Arkansas, son of Carl F. and Helen Williamson Parker. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio. Carl earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hastings College and a Masters in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant. Teaching was Carl's passion in life. He spent 27 years teaching English in Middle and High School in Oklahoma. He also taught part-time at North Central Texas College, Grayson County Community College, and Murray State College. He also served as a substitute teacher at Pottsboro, S&S, Tom Bean and Sherman schools. Mr. Parker was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Carl is survived by his wife Rosemarie of Sherman; one son. Chris Parker of Sherman; one sister, Mary Alice Dobesh of Ft. Worth; one grandchild, Kelsey Lux of Pottsboro; one sister-in-law, Dori Towne-Fleck of Sherman; and 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. A rosary will be said at 6:30 pm Tuesday, October 2 at Waldo Funeral Home, Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Building Fund at 727 S. Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090 Rosemarie Gebhart Parker went to her merciful Saviour on September 3, 2019. She was united with her husband, David Parker; parents, Frank J. Gebhart and Gertrude Nord Gebhart; brothers, Willian H. Gebhart, Frank E. Gebhart, and Edward L. Gebhart. She was born October 19, 1937. Rosemarie served as a missionary in Nigeria, Africa and with the Dominican Sisters of Great Bend, Kansas. These were memories she always cherished. She was an Avon representative for 30 years. Her church was always a primary part of her life. In Oklahoma she was a Eucharistic Minister bringing Christ to those who were homebound. She is survived by her son, Chris Parker and wife, Abbie, of Sherman; brother, Richard Gebhart and wife, Glenna, of Jetmore, Kansas; sister, Dorothy A. Towne-Fleck of Sherman; and grandchildren, Dante and Zooey Parker of Sherman; nieces, nephews and many friends. Rosary was held Sunday evening, September 8, 2019 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday morning, September 9, 2019 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
