TWO YOUNG BROTHERS VICTIMS OF FLAME
Whitesboro, Texas, April 17 - J ames Jepthcotte, 6 years old, and his brother, Paul, aged 4, were burned to death in the barn of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jepthcotte, 5 miles west of Whitesboro about 10 o'clock Friday morning.  They had been playing in the barn and had locked the door on the inside to keep the chickens out, having been told by their parents to keep the barn door closed to save the grain.  They are supposed to have taken matches from the house without their mother's knowledge and to have ignited the hay unintentionally.
Mrs. Jepthcotte made frantic efforts to break down the door.  By the time the children's father arrived from a near-by field where he was plowing the entire barn was a mass of flames.  The Whitesboro fire department was summoned, but the chemical wagon arrived too late to be of service.  Barn and contents were valued at $600.
Funeral services for the children were held Friday afternoon in Sherman, from which place the family came here about a year ago.
