Mr. Tomas Ancira Avila, Sr. 18 August 1949 - 18 November 2013 Reverend Mr. Tomas was born in Temple, Texas to Germinal Sr. and Consuelo (Ancira) Avila. He passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas following a lengthy illness. He was raised and attended school in Altus, Oklahoma. He received an Associates of Science degree from Western Oklahoma State College. In November of 1988 Tomas became an Ordained Deacon. He has served as Deacon at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma, St. Mary's Catholic Parish Deacon Tomas worked for Yates Implement in Altus for twenty years before he retired. After moving to Sherman, he was employed by the Sherman ISD and worked for them for twenty-three years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Germinal Avila Jr. Left to cherish his memories he is survived by his wife Diana of Sherman; sons Stephen Rincon of Sherman, Thomas Avila, Jr. of College Station and Robert Hindbaugh of Amarillo, Texas; daughters Rhonda Rincon Marroquin and husband Henry of Sherman and Susanna Bree Avila of Dallas; 9 grandchildren Roozie A. Marroquin, Roxanne Marroquin, Andre Marroquin, Esteban C. Rinson, Jose A. Rincon, Miguel G. Rincon, Cheyenne N. Uphold-Hindbaugh, Dakota L. Hindbaugh and Kile R. Hindbaugh; 3 great-grandchildren Sophia Marroquin, Nevaeh; siblings Jim Avila of Floydada, Texas, Johnny Avila of Altus, Corina Avila of Antioch, California, Peter Avila of Altus, Mary Avila Sanchez of Altus, and Robert Avila of Pearl City, Hawaii and numerous other family members and friends. A Rosary was recited by Father Jeremy Myers, Father Antonio Aureus, Deacons John LeBlanc and Albert Miller at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremy Myers and Rev. Antonio Aureus officiating. Also at the altar was Most Rev. Douglas Deshotel, Auxiliary Bishop of Dallas, as well as other priests and deacons of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. in Sherman, Texas and St. Francis Assisi in Whitesboro, Texas. Pallbearers were be Stephen Rincon, Thomas Avila, Jr., Robert Hindbaugh, Roozie Marroquin, Esteban Rincon, Andre Marroquin, Jose Rincon, Miguel Rincon and Kile Hindbaugh. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman. Memorial may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 727 S.
