Patrick Francis Fallon 6 January 1838 – 28 October
1928
Mr. Fallon was born in Ireland,
the son of William Fallon and Margaret (Connor) Fallon. He died at his home
northeast of Sherman, Texas. Mr. Fallon came to the United
States at the age of 18. He settle first in Kentucky, where he married Miss Mary
Elizabeth Graham on 6 November 1868, but moved to Texas in 1878 where he settle
on his farm near Sherman, coming to be known as one of the most prosperous and
best known farmers in this area. He was survived by his wife of
almost 60 years of the home; two sons, Charles Fallon of Sherman and John Fallon
of Gunter, Texas; five daughters, Misses Margaret, Sallie, Mary and Kittie
Fallon, and Mrs. Charles O’Hagan all of Sherman. He was also survived by a
brother, John Fallon of Lindsey, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Haddican of
Great Bend, Kansas and Miss Delia Fallon of Hollywood, California; and five
grandchildren. Requiem Mass was celebrated by
the Rev. Joseph Donohue at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sherman. Pallbearers were F.L. O’Hanlon,
Joseph O’Hagan, Andrew Korioth. T.P. Roach, John McCullough, Charles Walcott and
A. O’Hanlon. An obituary was published in
the Sherman Democrat 29 October 1928.
Kitty W. Fallon 4 June 1888 – 4
October 1969
Miss Kitty W.
Fallon, 81, a lifelong Sherman, Texas resident, died Saturday morning in a
Sherman hospital following a brief illness. Requiem Mass was celebrated
Monday at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Emil Slovacek, church Pastor
officiated. Rosary was recited on Sunday at the Dannel Chapel. Burial was at St.
Mary’s Cemetery. Miss Fallon was born in Sherman the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fallon. She was a retired bank teller, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church and St. Mary’s Altar Society. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Mary
Fallon and Mrs. Genevieve (Fallon) O’Hagan, both of Sherman, and several nieces
and nephews. An obituary was published on the Sherman Democrat, 5 October
1969, page 11.
William
P. Fallon 11 January 1873 – 21 October
1925
William P. Fallon was born
in Kentucky, the son of Patrick Francis and Mary Elizabeth (Graham) Fallon. He
was found dead in a cotton field northwest of the city, Sherman, Texas. The
death was said to be a result of a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Fallon came to Texas
from Kentucky, and after living in the state for a period of time, he moved to
St Louis, Missouri, where he made his home until 1920 when he returned to
Grayson County, Texas and was living with his brother Charles Fallon at the time
of his demise. He was survived by his
parents of Sherman; two brothers, Charlie of Sherman and John Fallon of Denison,
Texas; and five sisters, Misses Margaret, Sallie, Mary, Kattie and Mrs.
Genevieve O’Hagan, all of Sherman. Funeral Mass
was celebrated by Father Untereiner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Sherman. Funeral
arrangements under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman. An obituary
was published in the Sherman Democrat on 21 October 1925.
Mary
Elizabeth Graham Fallon 19 July 1852 – 25 December
1933
Mary was born near Dublin,
Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Winefred (Hussey) Graham. She died
at home on Christmas Day, in Sherman, Texas. She came with her parents
from her birthplace to Flemingsburg, Kentucky, when she was one year old. She
grew up there and married Patrick Francis Fallon on 6 November 1868. The couple
moved to Grayson County, Texas in 1878, and located west of Sherman, where they
lived for 50 years until the death of Mr. Fallon. Mrs. Fallon moved to Sherman
in 1930 and lived there until her death. She was a devout member of the
Catholic Church. Mrs. Fallon was survived by
two sons, John E. of Dorchester, Texas and Charles G. of Sherman; and five
daughters, Misses Margaret, Sallie, Mary, Kittie and Mrs. Genevieve O’Hagan, all
of Sherman. A Rosary was recited on
Christmas night and again a couple days later on Tuesday night at which time the
rosary was recited by St Mary’s Catholic Church pastor, Father Joseph G.
O’Donohue, assisted by Father M.J. Dowd and Father R.A. Piper, C.S.C. of Austin,
Texas. Funeral Mass was celebrated
by Father O’Donohue at St. Mary’s Church. Funeral arrangements under
the direction of Dannel-Scott Funeral Home, Sherman.
