The Whitewright Sun Thursday, March 24, 1960 pg. 1 Funeral services for Monroe C. Simpson, 81, were held at 2 p.m. at the Pilot Grove Church of Christ, conducted by Grady Langford. Burial was in Smith Cemetery, conducted by Earnheart Funeral Home. Mr. Simpson died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ Home in Gunter. Pallbearers were Grady Simpson, Ted Simpson, Shirley Brown, Guy Simpson, Ben Simpson, and Jim Simpson. Born January 28, 1879, south of Pilot Grove, Mr. Simpson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dick Simpson. He was a retired farmer of the Pilot Grove community, and had been at the Gunter Home since 1955. He was a member of the Pilot Grove Church of Christ. Only survivors are nieces and nephews.
