S.B. Murphy 15 May 1856 - 21 January 1915 Amelia E. Murphy 1869 - 1939 RESIDENT OF DENISON, DRIPPING SPRINGS DIES Mrs. Amelia Elizabeth Murphy, 70, a resident of Denison and the Dripping Springs community 45 years, and mother of Jack Murphy, assistant plant superintendent of the Kraft cheese corporation here, died Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at her home, 510 W. Day, following an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Trinity Methodist church with Rev. Paul O. Cardwell officiating. Interment was at Shannon Cemetery in Dripping Springs with George Shields, funeral directors in charge. Pall bearers were C.E. Swearingen, D.E. King, S.G. Dahl, Lawrence Metcalf, Bert Christopher and Haskell W. Lock, all Kraft plant employees, Dahl being plant superintendent. Mrs. Murphy was born December 10, 1868 in Kentucky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Radford, and received her education in that state. She married Mr. Murphy in 1897 at Burkeville, Kentucky, and moved with him to Dripping Springs shortly after their marriage. He died six years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Jack, of Denison and J.R. of Houston; six daughters, Mrs. J.A. Chambers of Brady, Texas; Mrs. W.C. Olds of McAdoo; Mrs. Robert Marshall, Mrs. Rich Lamb, Mrs. W. Bass, all of Denison and Mrs V.R. Smith of Amarillo. Also surviving is a brother, Frankd Radford of Bakerton, Kentucky; a sister, Mrs. Martha Smiley of Glen Fork, Kentucky; and 5 grandchildren.
